Serving villages in the Cuckmere Valley since 1976, the Cuckmere Community Bus provides regular scheduled bus services throughout the Valley, weekend leisure services to help visitors see more of the area, and is also available for private hire.
The scheme is run entirely by volunteers under the control of a committee representing each of the communities served. The area served comprises the villages of Alciston, Alfriston, Berwick, Chalvington, Litlington, Lullington, Selmeston, Upper Dicker, Westdean and Wilmington. From these villages there are regular services to Hailsham and\or Seaford at least once a week and a monthly service to Brighton. At
Our three 16-seat minibuses (two fitted with seat belts) are available for private hire to take your party wherever they want to go, whenever they choose to go, and because our drivers are all volunteers, they will go out of their way to make your trip one to remember. We are pleased to be of service to the Cuckmere Valley and hope to do so for many years to come. The weekend services won the Buses for Pleasure category in the Bus Industry Awards for 2000.
