Travelling to Hospital

If you intend travelling to a hospital in East Sussex for non-emergency
medical treatment and you are unable to easily use public transport,
ambulance transport (either a car or ambulance) may be provided for you.

Transport MUST be authorised by a Doctor (your own GP or Consultant)

Details are available from your GP's surgery or health centre, who can
advise on financial support for those patients in receipt of certain
benefits.

Please note that whilst there are a number of community transport schemes
that may be able to assist with travel to hospital, there are many other
organisations that are unable to provide this service.

There is a leaflet Getting to your NHS Appointment produced by Brighton Health care NHS Trust, South Downs Health NHS Trust, Brighton & Hove Primary Care Group and Ouse Valley Primary Care Group. This gives valuable information regarding the location of hospitals, parking, transport, community transport, voluntary organisations and other advice.
