Disabled Drivers' Association
The Disabled Drivers' Association provides advice on matters of mobility
for all people with mobility problems. They also publish a quarterly
magazine, Magic Carpet, which contains features on access and travel.
Annual membership costs £10.00 for single and £14.00 for joint membership.

Disabled Drivers' Motor Club
The Disabled Drivers' Motor Club produces two publications for its members. The DDMC Club Handbook is published annually, and contains useful advice on car adaptations, accessories and insurance. There is also a monthly
magazine, The Disabled Motorist, which has features on access and travel.
Members of the club can get fare concessions on many ferry journeys - see
the annual handbook for details. Both publications are free to members;
annual membership costs £10.00 for single and £15.00 for joint membership.

Driving with Arthritis
The Forum of Mobility Centres has produced a leaflet which covers all
aspects of driving including licence requirements: choice of car, seating,
car modification option, how to protect joints, methods of loaning a
wheelchair or scooter, and other sources of help.

Holiday Care
Holiday Care provides travel information and advice for
disabled people, single-parent families, carers, and those on low incomes.
It also provides advice to travel operators who wish to improve their
facilities for disabled people and works with RADAR and the tourist boards
to produce Accessible Holidays in the British Isles: a Guide for Disabled
People
. HC provides a reservation service which offers discounted rates at
many of the hotels covered in the guide. Information sheets and guides
covering destinations in the UK and world wide are available on topics from activity holidays to services such as equipment hire and travel escorts.

Transport For London (TfL)
Transport for London (TfL) is an executive body of the Greater London Authority (GLA) reporting to the Mayor of London who is also Chair on TfL's Board. TfL currently includes London Buses, London River Services, Tramlink, Docklands Light Railway, Public Carriage Office (responsible for taxi and private hire vehicle licensing), Street Management and Victoria Coach Station. London Underground will become part of TfL in due course.

London Transport
Access & Mobility

TfL Access and Mobility was formerly the London Transport Unit for Disabled Passengers which was set up in 1984 to co-ordinate initiatives aimed at making public transport in London more accessible to people with disabilities. TfL Access and Mobility is a focal point for the development of practical solutions to mobility problems and provides passenger information in a range of alternative media, such as large print and cassette tape and through the use of a textphone. Stationlink
A fully-accessible bus service for people who find cross-London train connections something of a challenge. Ramp-equipped low-floor buses run daily at hourly intervals in each direction around a loop serving the National Rail terminals and Victoria Coach Station. Radar
The Royal Association for Disability and Rehabilitation believes that
disabled people should be part of the community and share in all the
activities of normal daily life. It is concerned with all aspects of
physical disability and campaigns for the rights of disabled people and
recognition of their needs. RADAR produces a publication. Door to Door.
RADAR also runs the National Key Scheme (NKS) toilets. You can buy keys for £2.50 and a guide to the location of more than 4,000 accessible toilets at a further cost of £5.00.

Disabled Traveller Holiday Guide
Published by the BBC, this guide is a supplement to the Holiday series on
television and the booklets are produced in conjunction with the programme. It includes access information for each location featured in the series, and is packed with useful hints and contacts on transport, accommodation and tourist attractions.
